INDIANAPOLIS – For a second straight year the Butler University Athletic Department received a record number of gifts from a record number of donors during the 2010-11 fiscal year, which runs from June 1 to May 31.
The Bulldog Club, Butler’s giving society for all athletic donors, reached a record-breaking 2,792 donors, a 47.5% increase from 2009-10’s record number of 1,893 members. Additionally, a number of Bulldog Club members increased their support. The number of members at the Gold Level ($1,000 or more) increased from 258 members in 2010 to 378 in 2011.
“The type of commitment shown by our Bulldog Club members is a testament to their generosity and shows they believe in our student-athletes and The Butler Way,” said Athletic Director Barry Collier. “Their loyalty and passion for our teams allows us to enhance the overall student-athlete experience by providing the necessary resources to be successful.”
Gifts to the Bulldog Club provide uniforms and equipment, up-to-date training facilities, team travel and accommodations, quality coaches, recruiting support, academic support programs and other essential components required to support all of Butler's 19 Division I teams and the participating student-athletes.
The Butler Athletic Department would like to thank everyone who supported the Bulldogs throughout the 2010-11 athletic season. Your dedication of both time and treasure continues to lead Butler University through the ever-competitive world of college athletics. Bulldog Club donations were instrumental in Butler winning the James J. McCafferty All-Sports Trophy for the second consecutive year as well as the men’s basketball team’s second straight appearance in the national championship game.
