Bulldog Club Members Raise Record Funds in 2012
Bulldog Club members continue to raise the bar as they have once again helped the Butler athletic department record an unprecedented level of annual funds raised in fiscal year 2012. Butler's athletic department does not disclose fundraising numbers, but it can report that since 2008, annual athletic fundraising has increased by an astonishing 130 percent in a five-year span.
For a second straight year, the Bulldog Club eclipsed the 2,700-member plateau, finishing 2012 with 2,771 athletic donors. Since 2008, Bulldog Club membership has increased by 81 percent. Additionally, a number of Bulldog Club members increased their support in the past year. The number of members at the MVP Level ($2,500-$4,999) increased from 49 members in 2011 to 105 in 2012 while members at the Silver Level ($500-$999) jumped from 254 members to 417.
“Each year, we lean on our Bulldog Club members to help us achieve individual and team success both competitively and academically,” said Athletic Director Barry Collier. “With their unwavering support and firm belief in The Butler Way, the generosity Bulldog Club members show each year is a great example for our student-athletes.”
Bulldog Club members help make the student-athlete experience at Butler one of the best in the country. Their generosity helps to update current facilities and locker rooms, enhance travel and accommodations, provide uniforms and equipment, retain top-notch coaches as well provide hands-on academic support for all of Butler’s 19 Division I teams.
