Butler to Honor Student-Athletes Wednesday
Feb. 16, 2004
Butler University will celebrate its fifth consecutive Jostens' "Scholar-Athlete Recognition Night" Wednesday by honoring 201 student-athletes currently enrolled and participating in athletics at Butler. The recognition will take place at halftime of Wednesday's basketball game between the men's team and UW-Milwaukee.
All student-athletes being recognized achieved a 3.25 grade point average during the fall and/or spring 2003 semesters and/or currently maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA.
"We've been fortunate to have Jostens as a sponsor of our academic recognition night for five years now," said Carol Reep, senior associate athletic director. "We're very proud to have such a large number of student-athletes who succeed academically and athletically at such a high level."
In addition to honoring its student-athletes, Butler will also receive a $1,000 check on behalf of Jostens to help provide funding for programming that will help support its student-athletes in the classroom.
