Erin Lukac, a former marketing assistant in the athletic department at Butler, has been named Butler's Director of Sports Marketing and Promotions. She'll begin her new duties in May.
Lukac is returning to Butler's athletic department after spending the past two years as Assistant Director of Alumni and Parent Programs at Butler. Under her position in the alumni office, she had responsibility for creating and maintaining alumni chapters in key cities, developing and planning Presidential events with alumni and assisting with on-campus alumni events. She also helped coordinate alumni events around Butler home and away athletic contests.
"Erin brings a valuable skill set to Butler athletics," stated Butler Director of Athletics John Parry. "Internally and externally, people enjoy working with her in a team effort to improve all of our sports."
Lukac served as manager of sports marketing and promotions for the Bulldogs from 1999 to 2002. She assisted Butler's Director of Sports Marketing and Promotions on securing sponsorships, developing and executing game promotions and coordinating merchandising efforts. She worked on marketing efforts to drive ticket sales, and she worked on both internal and external promotion of Butler athletic teams. She also assisted in game operations at Butler athletic events.
"I'm excited to be returning to the athletic department and about this opportunity," said the new sports marketing director. "I've continued to be a strong supporter of Butler athletics, and I'm looking forward to again taking an active part in promoting a positive relationship between our athletic program and the Indianapolis community.
Prior to her first stint in Butler's athletic department, Lukac served for one season as corporate events coordinator for the Indianapolis Indians. She's also had sales experience with Topics Newspapers and production experience with WLFI-TV in West Lafayette and WKOA/WASK radio in Lafayette.
Lukac earned a B.A. degree in telecommunications from Purdue in 1998, and she will complete her master's degree in business administration from Butler in August of 2004.
