Butler Athletics Teams With Gleaners Food Bank To Help Feed People In Need

Indianapolis, Ind. - The Butler University Athletic Department is hosting a food drive for Gleaners Food Bank at the Bulldogs' December 19 home men's basketball game against Bradley at Hinkle Fieldhouse. All Bulldog fans are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to help Hoosier families who need food assistance during the holiday season.

Items needed are:

  • Beef stew, tuna, and other canned meats
  • Macaroni and cheese and other boxed dinners
  • Cans of soup
  • Canned vegetables
  • 100% juices
  • Peanut butter
  • Apple sauce
  • Canned fruits

    Collection barrels will be placed at the four main gates inside Hinkle Fieldhouse.

    All fans who donate a nonperishable item to the food drive for Gleaners Food Bank will receive a $5 discount off a ticket to the Butler vs. Bradley men's basketball game on Wednesday, December 19 at 7 p.m. at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Fans can purchase a discounted ticket for each donated food item.

    Fans who donate to the food drive can purchase upper level youth (age 3-12) tickets to the Bradley game for $10, upper level adult tickets for $15, and lower level tickets for $25.

    The Hinkle Fieldhouse Box Office, located near gate two, is open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fans can bring in their food donation during those hours to receive their discount and purchase tickets.
