Chuck Schwanekamp earned four varsity letters as an offensive lineman on Butler's football teams from 1974 to 1977. He helped lead the Bulldogs to three conference championships, and he earned first team All-Heartland Collegiate Conference honors as a senior. Following his graduation from Butler in 1978, he began a successful high school football coaching career at Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis and at Plainfield High School. He's one of just three coaches to lead two different high schools to the Indiana state football finals. He led Bishop Chatard to Indiana state football championships in 1983 and 1984, and he guided Plainfield to a state runner-up finish in 2001.
