As they do every holiday season, Butler student-athletes have helped the less fortunate this holiday season. Butler athletics has once again sponsored its Shoebox Christmas event, organized by Sonya Hopkins, Butler's Coordinator of Academic Support.
Each Butler athletics team pooled money together and purchased gifts for 175 underprivileged children in Indianapolis. The Bulldog student-athletes then gathered to wrap the presents and delivered them in-person to St. Mary's Children Center. While at St. Mary's, the student-athletes had a chance to spend time with the children and participate in activities and watching them enjoy their gifts.
The gifts were wrapped in donated shoeboxes, collected by Hopkins.
