Abby Merritt joined the Butler athletic staff for the 2012-2013 year as the Development Intern. In that position, she assists in the day-to-day operations of the Bulldog Club as well as working in a variety of capacities in the development office. Prior to arriving at Butler, Merritt interned with the Senate Majority Campaign Committee and was a student assistant in the Hanover College Office of Communications and Marketing.
 
Merritt began her collegiate career at University of Indianapolis where she lettered in women’s volleyball.  She then transferred to Hanover College where she was a three-year letterwinner and helped guide the Panther volleyball team to its fifth Heartland Conference title.  Merritt was a three-time all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference selection and was named the HCAC’s most valuable player in 2011.  She was a Hanover College Scholar Athlete for three consecutive years and earned the HCAC Tom Bohlsen Academic All-Conference Award in 2010 and 2011.
 
A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Merritt received her International Studies and Spanish B.A. degrees from Hanover College in May of 2012.
