Joey Guzzo was named assistant strength and conditioning coach at Butler University in August, 2012, He’s responsible for the strength and conditioning programs for women’s basketball, baseball, women’s soccer, men’s/women’s track and field, men’s/women’s tennis, softball and swimming.
Guzzo joined Butler’s staff after spending two years as assistant strength and conditioning coach at St. Francis University. In his role at St. Francis, he worked directly with the men’s and women’s soccer teams, the men’s and women’s volleyball teams, the men’s and women’s tennis teams and the women’s bowling squad. He previously served as a strength and conditioning intern at Hofstra University and as a strength and conditioning intern at Missouri State University, both in 2010.
A National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Guzzo earned a B.S. degree in Exercise Sport Science from Elon University in 2009. He earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from St. Francis in 2012. Guzzo is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach.
