Kyle Smith, a 2003 graduate of Butler, joined the athletics staff as Assistant Director of the Bulldog Club in August of 2009. Before moving to the athletic department, Smith spent four years in the university development office as Assistant Director of Development in annual giving.
Since joining the athletic department, Smith has overseen the day-to-day operation of the Bulldog Club, which now includes over 3,600 members across eight different giving levels. The duties of the athletic development office include annual gift renewals, gift acknowledgements, fulfillment of benefits and engaging new members.
Additionally, Smith organizes over 50 Bulldog Club hospitality opportunities annually as well as coordinates events such as the Butler Golf Classic, the Athletic Director’s Dinner and the Hall of Fame banquet each year. Furthermore, Smith manages the department’s Priority Points System for men’s basketball season ticket holders and athletic donors.
Prior to joining university development, Smith worked in the communications department at the Horizon League office in downtown Indianapolis. While there, he served as the primary media contact for men's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's golf and women's softball.
A native of Nashville, Ind., Smith earned his Butler degree in Telecommunications Arts with a minor in Journalism in 2003. Smith and his wife, Amanda, reside in Carmel with their daughters Ella and Leighton.
