Allegra Lucia was hired in the summer of 2010 as AssistantAthletic Trainer at Butler University. She is the primary athletictrainer for the men’s soccer and softball teams. She alsoserves as the coordinator of Butler Sports Medicine’saffiliation as a clinical site of the University of IndianapolisAthletic Training Education program.
Lucia came to Butler after spending a year as a certified internat Virginia Commonwealth University. At VCU, she was theprimary athletic trainer for the women’s volleyball andmen’s and women’s tennis teams.
Prior to her time at VCU, Lucia spent two years as a graduateassistant at East Carolina University. Her assignments at ECUincluded women's soccer, softball and men's and women's crosscountry and track. She was also a student athletic trainer forfour years at Iowa State University.
Lucia graduated from Iowa State in 2007 with a degree in healthand human performance. She earned a master’s degree inexercise and sport science from East Carolina in 2009.
