Allegra Lucia was hired in the summer of 2010 as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Butler University. She is the primary athletic trainer for the men’s soccer and softball teams. She also serves as the coordinator of Butler Sports Medicine’s affiliation as a clinical site of the University of Indianapolis Athletic Training Education program.
Lucia came to Butler after spending a year as a certified intern at Virginia Commonwealth University. At VCU, she was the primary athletic trainer for the women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s tennis teams.
Prior to her time at VCU, Lucia spent two years as a graduate assistant at East Carolina University. Her assignments at ECU included women's soccer, softball and men's and women's cross country and track. She was also a student athletic trainer for four years at Iowa State University.
Lucia graduated from Iowa State in 2007 with a degree in health and human performance. She earned a master’s degree in exercise and sport science from East Carolina in 2009.
