Allegra Lucia enters her first year at Butler as assistant athletic trainer in the fall of 2010. Lucia comes to BU after a one-year stop at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Lucia, a certified athletic trainer with memberships in three professional organizations, spent the 2009-10 academic year as an intern trainer at VCU. While at Virginia Commonwealth, she worked with the women's volleyball and men's and women's tennis teams.

Prior to her time at VCU, Lucia spent two years as a graduate assistant at East Carolina University. Her assignments at ECu included women's soccer, softball and men's and women's cross country and track. She was also a student trainer for four years at Iowa State University.

Lucia graduated from Iowa State in 2007 with a degree in health and human performance. She earned a masters degree in exercise and sport science from East Carolina in 2009.
