JACKSON, Miss. -- The game was scoreless through four innings, and then in the fifth, Wurch led the inning off with a walk, and after being advanced to second on a sacrifice, Holt knocked him home after hitting a single to left. In the ensuing at-bat, Holt stole second, and then Steinhart later walked, putting two on base for the Bulldogs. Gargano would double in his at-bat up the middle bringing home Holt and advancing Steinhart to third.
Scott Jones grounded out to third to wrap the inning.
Jackson State started the 8th with Kenneth Bell III. reaching second on a passed ball. Bell III. would later steal third and put himself in scoring position for the Tigers. Bell III. would then score on a sacrifice to put the only run of the game up for Jackson State.
Aaron Barokas was stellar for the 'Dawgs today after going six innings, allowing zero earned runs and two hits in 21 batters faced. Barokas had seven strikeouts on the day as well.
Dawson Taylor was credited with the save on the day, having retired the final three batters.
