NEWPORT NEWS, VA. - Butler recently had 105 student-athletes named to the Fall 2012 Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. More than 1,600 total athletes from across the conference were named to the list, a new conference record. The previous record was set after the 2012 spring semester.
The Bulldogs rank in the top half of the conference, Massachusetts led all schools with 138 athletes named to the list. To be named to the list, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 semester grade point average.
The women’s soccer team and softball team led all Butler programs with 15 athletes on the list. They were closely followed by baseball with 12 athletes included. The women’s cross country team placed 11 on the list and the men’s soccer team placed nine. Volleyball, women’s basketball and women’s track all placed five athletes.
The 1,637 athletes honored were the most in the Atlantic 10 since 2007 and the most in Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade’s tenure.
