Butler Student-Athletes Post Stellar Classroom Marks


Butler University student-athletes, a group of approximately 370 student-athletes, posted a departmental GPA of 3.294 for the spring 2013 semester.

The Bulldogs' collective GPA this semester was virtually the same as their fall 2012 mark (3.296). The departmental cumulative GPA through the spring is 3.319.

The top academic teams by GPA were women's cross country (3.602), women's golf (3.521), women's track and field (3.469) and women's soccer (3.463). On the men's side, the Butler men's tennis program posted a mark of 3.430 followed by men's golf (3.396). In all, 17 of Butler's 19 teams recorded a team GPA of 3.000 or better during the spring semester.

Individually, 29 Butler student-athletes earned a 4.0 GPA during the spring. Matt Roe's cross country and track teams featured six 4.0 student-athletes and the Pioneer Football League tri-champion football team had four players earn a 4.0 GPA.
