FISHERS, Ind. - Butler swimming hosted a quadrangular meet this weekend, welcoming IUPUI, Xavier and Evansville to the pool at Fishers High School. A host of Bulldog swimmers had solid performances, as a number of different swimmers led the team in each stroke.
Freshman Anna Taylor and Stephanie Moles led BU in the sprint freestyle swims. Taylor placed 5th in the 200 free (2:19.54) and 7th in the 100 free (1:02.58) to lead the team in those events. In the 50 free, Moles' 27.34 was the team's best showing.
Freshman Jessica Onstwedder led the team in the backstroke, recording a time of 1:09.65 in the 100 back and 2:29.58 in the 200.
Freshman Kyle Johannsen had a busy day, competing in both relays and the 500 and mile freestyle events. Johannsen led the team in the mile (18:39.56).
Senior Momo Wilson led the Bulldogs in the breaststroke events. Wilson placed 7th in both swims, clocking 1:14.27 in the 100 and 2:44.04 in the 200.
Freshman Nikki Weston placed a team-best 6th in the 100 fly, registering a time of 1:04.14.
BU's next contest is a quad meet at UIC Saturday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m.
