TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Butler swimming team closed its regular season by finishing second in a triangular meet at Rose Hulman Saturday afternoon. The Dawgs picked up a win over Rose in what is the final regular season meet of the season.
Butler was highlighted by a win in the 200 medley relay and a series of runner-up swims by Kyle Johannsen, Lauren Need, Lauren Lambrecht and Kathleen Brannen. The relay team of Kaitie Ring, Rosalie Fidanze, Lambrecht and Brannen posted a 200 medley time of 1:54.48 to finish first in the event.
Johannsen was the first second-place finish of the day, finishing second in the 1000 with a time of 11:28.22. Need clocked 2:07.00 in the 200 free and Lambrecht recorded a time of 26.84 in the 50 free. Brannen later added a 1:06.60 runner-up finish in the 100 back.
The day concluded with the 200 free relay team (Lambrecht-Ring-Fidanze-Brannen) finishing second with a time of 1:46.95.
The Bulldogs will be in Cleveland Feb. 23-26 for the Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships.
