Ring Finishes Strong for Bulldogs at IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS- Kaitie Ring placed third in the 100 back and ninth in the 200 back to lead the Bulldogs at IUPUI's House of Champions Invite Saturday night.  For her efforts, Ring was awarded swimmer of the meet.  The Bulldogs had 19 season or career best times.

"This was a solid overall team performance by our ladies at this House of Champions Invite," head coach Maurice Stewart said.  "It's great to see our team improve with every meet, and to beat another team in the regular season really speaks volumes about our team effort, attitude and potential. This is the first time we have beaten two teams in the regular season since 2006."

Ring recorded a lifetime best 1:00.82 in the 100 back.  With her third place performance, Ring is now second on the all-time school top 10 performance.

In the 1650 free, Kathleen Brannen cut 10 seconds off of her lifetime best to post a time of 18:22.72.  Kyle Johannsen and Lauren Need also swam in the event, along with Libby Platau.

Lauren Lambrecht led the Bulldogs in the 200 fly placing fifth and recording a time of 2:16.18.

Shelby Tschannen, Rosalie Fidanze and Regan Girten all had season-best times.  Jessica Onstwedder and Libby Platau had lifetime best performances in the 100 free and 1650 free, respectively.
