Butler Swimming Hosts 5-Team Invitational



FISHERS, Ind. - Several Butler swimmers had solid, competitive swims Sunday at a 5-team invitational hosted by Butler at Fishers High School. The team was led by Kaitie Ring, Lauren Lambrecht, Rosalie Fidanze and Kathleen Brannen.

Brannen was Butler's top scorer, leading the team in the sprints. She finished 9th in both the 200 free and 200 back while leading the free relay and anchoring the medley relay.

Lambrecht placed 7th in the 200 fly and 10th in the 400 IM and Ring placed 12th in the 100 back and 400 IM. Both Bulldog swimmers competed in the medley relay as well. Fidanze competed in both medley relays and also had a solid finish in the 100 breast.

Ball State won the team standings, followed by Xavier and Hillsdale College. Three men's teams also competed, with Xavier finishing with the highest score.

BU has one meet remaining before the league championships at the end of February. The Bulldogs finish their regular season at Rose Hulman Saturday, Feb. 5 against Rose and IUPUI.
