CLEVELAND - Three individuals and the 400 medley relay team enjoyed season-best times to lead the Butler women's swimming team in day two of the Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships at Cleveland State.
Jessica Onstwedder and Kyle Johannsen each swam season-best times in the 500 free, while Shelby Tschannen had a season-best effort in the 50 free. Johannsen posted a 5:31.90 time in the 500 and Onstwedder's time was 5:46.94. Tschannen's season-best mark in the 50 was 30.01.
Adding lifetime bests were Libby Platau (5:57.66 in 500 free) and Rosalie Fidanze (26.76 in 50 free).
The highlight of Thursday's action was BU's 400 medley relay effort, a time of 4:21.54. That time was more than 10 seconds better than the previous top time. Head coach Maurice Stewart cited all four swimmers - Regan Girten, Fidanze, Lauren Need and Johannsen - as all having good splits. Girten and Need posted lifetime-best split times in the relay.
The league meet continues Friday and Saturday at CSU's Busbey Natatorium.
