Lambrecht Leads Bulldogs At IUPUI


INDIANAPOLIS - Lauren Lambrecht won the 200 fly and 200 IM and placed second in the 100 fly to lead the Bulldog swimming team in its meet at IUPUI (Oct. 8). Kathleen Brannen also placed first in the 500 free, and a number of Butler swimmers posted strong performances.

Lambrecht won the 200 fly with a time of 2:15.40 and the 200 IM in 2:16.89. Her time in the butterfly events each currently stand in the top 10 in school history. Brannen's winning swim in the 500 free came in 5:26.43.

“I felt the team did an outstanding job tonight and it showed in the pool with multiple wins," head coach Maurice Stewart said.  “Everyone’s spirit, team encouragement, and focus on their events really helped us swim well and be more competitive than in our home opener on Oct 3.”  

Kyle Johannsen recorded a time of 11:14.18 in the 1000 free, another Butler top 10 mark.

Libby Platau (100 free, 200 breast) and Regan Girten (200 back) each posted personal-best performances.
