INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler women's swimming team has been selected for Scholar All-American team status by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for the fall 2010 semester. The Bulldog swimmers have been recognized nationally for their academics for 10 consecutive semesters.
"I'm proud of our young team's academic achievements," head coach Maurice Stewart said. "Our girls have certainly exceeded my expectations, balancing their academic and athletic challenges very well. We were a full .13 points higher on our team GPA from last year."
The Bulldogs posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.46, which was tied for 12th in the nation. In addition, one-third of the team's swimmers boast a cumulative GPA of better than 3.60. The CSCAA recognizes all teams that achieve a team GPA of 3.00 or better.
