Lauren Lambrecht Named Horizon League Swimmer of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Sophomore Lauren Lambrecht has been voted Horizon League Women's Swimmer of the Week for the period of Oct. 4-10. It is the first honor for the Morton, Ill., native, who led Butler to wins in their first two swim meets.

"Lauren has really stepped up her practice intensity and focus and it was translated into some competitive early-season times," head coach Maurice Stewart said. "She has been a leader in the pool and she has set a good example for our young team."

Lambrecht won two individual events in a 110-96 Butler win at Eastern Illinois on Friday, Oct. 7. She also anchored a relay team that finished second in the meet.

She was first in the 200 IM (2:16.03) and 100 fly (1:00.99) in a dual meet against the Panthers. The two wins came just 10 minutes apart. Lambrecht also anchored the 200 free relay, which placed second at the meet with a time of 1:44.65.

Stewart also cited Lambrecht's swims in the 200 fly (2:16.20) and 200 IM (2:17.94) back on Oct. 2 as impressive efforts.

Butler's next swim meet is Friday, Oct. 28 at IUPUI against the host Jaguars and Centre College.
