Lambrecht's 200 Fly Mark Highlights Final Day
BROWN DEER, Wis. - Sophomore Lauren Lambrecht made the final in the 200 fly to lead the Butler swimming team in the final day of the Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships.
Lambrecht, who also made the finals in the 100 fly, clocked a 2:14.00 to place 14th in the 200 fly. The time was a season best and rate ninth on Butler's all-time list. She already owned the fifth-fastest 200 fly time.
The fourth and final day of the league meet began with three BU swimmers putting up solid swims in the mile free. Kathleen Brannen (18:43.50), Kyle Johannsen (18:49.54) and Lauren Need (19:08.35) each registered a season-best mark. Brannen placed 20th to lead in the event.
Four swimmers had season bests in the 100 free, led by Hannah Somerville's time of 55.19. That was good for 19th. Lauren Scotti placed 21st (56.34) and Elizabeth Grogan and Stephanie Shoults also had season bests.
Freshman Caitlin Weichelt placed 20th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:29.91, nearly two seconds faster than her previous mark.
Butler's 400 free relay squad (Somerville-Eshan Pua-Kaitie Ring-Weichelt) turned in a 3:40.30 time, good for seventh. It was a season best, beating the team's previous mark of 3:46.64.
