SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Amanda Wagner's breaststroke swims led the Butler swimming team over the weekend in a triangular meet at Wittenberg. Wagner placed in the top three in both the 100 and 200 breastroke.
Wagner placed second in the 200 breast with a 2:36.87 mark. Earlier in the day, she placed third in the 100 breast (1:12.12). She was supported in that event by Rosalie Fidanze's fifth-place swim (1:13.03).
Some season-best times included Hayden Engstrom in the 100 back (1:09.91) and Annie Dvorchak's time of 2:16.70 in the 200 fly. Dvorchak's mark in that event was good for fourth place.
BU went 3-4 in the 100 fly, led by Lauren Lambrecht. Lambrecht swam 1:03.36 to place third and Emma Green followed in fourth (1:04.18).
The meet concluded with Butler claiming second in the 400 free relay. The team of Lauren Scotti, Caitlin Weichelt, Green and Serena Daley clocked 3:54.23.
Wittenberg won the team scoring in the meet, followed by Centre than Butler.
Butler's next swim meet is Sunday, Jan. 27 at Fishers High School. BU will be the host school, welcoming Xavier, Hillsdale, Ball State, Illinois State, IUPUI and Green Bay.
