Bulldogs Hang Tough Against Green Bay

Green Bau, Wis. - The Bulldogs swam to four second-place showings but came up short of host Green Bay, 103-74, on Saturday (Jan. 19). The double dual meet also includes teams from Northern Michigan and St. Norbert College.

Katie Krueger notched a runner-up showing in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.71; just hundredths shy of her season-best time (26.69).

Sarah Lynne Gates also recorded a second-place showing in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.23 and placed fourth in the 1,000 with a season-best time of 11:41.95.

Leigh Weston notched a runner-up showing in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.76 and chipped in a 1:03.09 in the 100 free to place sixth.

Elizabeth Shafer and Momo Wilson combined for a 2-3 showing in the 200 IM, with Shafer swimming to a second-place 2:26.01 and Wilson notching a third-place 2:27.12. Shafer also added a third-place showing in the 100 fly (1:07.19) while Wilson scored a third-place time of 5:55.37 in the 500 free.

Stephanie Moles finished third in the 200 free, swimming the trip in a personal season-best 2:09.94. She also added a fifth-place time of 1:14.78 in the 100 butterfly.

Anna Taylor swam to a fourth-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 6:01.78.

Kendall Wormley scored a fifth-place showing in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:13.12, while Maria Keyler added sixth-place showings in both the 100 back (1:14.12) and the 200 free (2:22.53).

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, Feb. 2 when they head to Cincinnati for a 1:00 p.m. dual meet.
