Season-Best Times Abound On Second Day Of League Tourney

Cleveland, Ohio - Eight season best times were set as the Bulldogs completed the second day of competition at the Horizon League Championships on Thursday (Feb. 21) at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium.

Sarah Lynne Gates notched the fastest 200 IM time of the season for the Bulldogs, swimming to a 2:15.52 in the prelims. Her time was also just three-hundredths shy of her personal best mark of 2:15.22, which is the fifth-fastest time in school history.

Katie Krueger, meanwhile, set a season-best mark in the 50 freestyle, topping Gates' previous best time by over half a second with a swim of 25.98.

Momo Wilson swam to a season-best mark in the 200 IM as well, completing the trip in 2:24.77, while Kendall Wormley added a season-best 2:32.26 in the event.

Leigh Weston posted a personal best time in the 50, swimming to a time of 26.90, and Anna Taylor tied her season-best mark with a 27.83.

Maria Keyler cut almost 15 seconds off her season-best 500 freestyle time, swimming to a prelim time of 6:05.33, while Brianne Owens improved on her 500 time by over six seconds with a prelim swim of 6:16.52.

The session concluded with the 400 medley relay, where the team of Krueger, Weston, Wilson and Moles notched a season-best time of 4:23.89, nearly seven seconds better than the previous mark.

Third day action gets going on Friday (Feb. 22) at the Busbey Natatorium in Cleveland.
