STARTING OFF: The Butler men's and women's swimming and diving programs began the 2002-03 campaign over the past weekend at the IUPUI Relays at IUPUI's Natatorium. Also competing in the meet were University of Indianapolis and Eastern Illinois University.

MAKING HER DEBUT: Head coach Nichole Ellis made her collegiate coaching debut at the IUPUI Relays. Before coming to Butler, Ellis was a standout on the IUPUI swim team from 1997-2000. With the Jaguars, she was a four-year letterwinner and was named her team's captain all four seasons. Ellis holds six school records and was twice named to the all-conference team. She was the team's MVP for the 2000-01 season. She also excelled academically, as she was a five-time academic all-conference selection and was cited as one of IUPUI's top 100 students in 2000 and 2001.

TOP DOGS: Butler's top finishes at the meet came in the mixed 400 Yard Butterfly Relay, the mixed 400 Yard Medley Relay, which both finished third.
