Milwaukee, Wis. - Sarah Lynne Gates and Kendall Wormley posted team season-bests and the Bulldogs combined for 10 personal-bests as Butler battled UIC, North Dakota and host Milwaukee on Saturday (Nov. 8) afternoon at the New Berlin Swim Club.
Gates swam to a 2:04.12 in the 200 freestyle, breaking the Bulldogs' previous season-best mark by over three seconds. Wormley, meanwhile, shaved .12 seconds off the team's season-best time in the 100 butterfly with a swim of 1:11.79.
Butler totaled seven other personal best marks in the meet. Maria Keyler cut five seconds off her season-best mark in the 1,000 free with a time of 12:44.80, while Momo Wilson trimmed three seconds off her 50 free record with a time of 27.19 and beat out her previous 200 breaststroke time by nearly two seconds with a 2:35.76.
Wormley also edged out her own personal-best 200 backstroke time with a swim of 2:35.29 and topped her season-best time in the 100 back by over a second with a time of 1:11.92.
Katie Krueger posted a 1:10.47 in the 100 back for her top mark on the year, while Allison Shafer finished with a season-best 1:18.29 in the 100 breast. Libby Bates chipped in a season-best mark in the 1,000 free with a time of 11:43.96.
The Bulldogs will have nearly a month off from competition before taking part in the House of Champions Invitational from Dec. 5-6 at the IUPUI Natatorium.
