Indianapolis, Ind. - Leigh Weston and Momo Wilson led a flurry of Butler season best times on the final day of the House of Champions Invitational on Saturday (Dec. 6) at the IUPUI Natatorium, as the Bulldogs swam to 16 of the team's fastest marks on the year.
Weston and Wilson each picked up top-eight finishes in the tournament, as Weston swam to an eighth-place finish and a team season-best time in the 100 breaststroke with a swim of 1:10.14, while Wilson completed her eighth-place showing in the 200 breast with a season-best mark of 2:32.67.
Wilson also posted a personal season-best time in the 100 breast with a time of 1:11.25.
Gates notched two team season-best marks with times of 1:02.08 in the 100 back and 55.74 in the 100 free, while Moles posted a team-best 2:33.98 in the 200 fly and a personal-best 2:06.47 in the 200 free. Shafer scored personal-bests with a 1:15.87 in the 100 breast and a 2:42.50 in the 200 breast, while Wormley added a team-best 1:10.24 in the 100 fly and a personal-fast 2:33.82 in the 200 back.
Butler picked up season-best times in all three relays during the day, as the 800 freestyle relay team of Gates, Moles, Weston and Wilson notched a season-best 8:36.02, while the same four tallied a season-fasts with a 3:52.09 in the 400 free relay and a 1:58.79 in the 200 medley relay.
