March 16, 2004

The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its list of Academic All-American teams, and the Bulldogs of Butler University lead the way, posting a 3.69 GPA for the Fall, 2003 semester. Butler's GPA was highest among the nation's teams receiving CSCAA recognition and a full tenth of a point higher than its closest competitor.

The team placed 11 individuals on Butler's Athletic Director's Honor Roll in 2003, meaning the student-athletes maintained a 3.25 cumulative grade point average. Six of the student-athletes were recognized as Fall Academic All-Horizon League selections in February.

Coach Nichole Ellis' squad just finished its 2003-04 season, setting two school records on the women's side and four on the men's at the Horizon League Championships, Feb. 25-28.
