Rob Mullett Earns All-America Honors
FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. -- Butler senior Rob Mullett
became just the second indoor track and field
All-American in Butler history with a top eight finish in the
men’s mile at the 2010 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field
Championship on Saturday, March 13. It was just the second
time in school history that Butler scored points in the indoor
national meet.
Mullett, who placed fourth in the prelims of the men’s mile,
wound up seventh in the final in 4:04.63. The race was won by
Lee Emanuel of New Mexico in 3:59.26.
Mullett, Butler’s lone participant in the national meet, was
competing in the fastest mile field ever assembled for an NCAA
Indoor Championship. Earlier this season, he became the first
athlete in Butler history to run a sub-four minute mile with a
3:59.37 effort at the Husky Classic, which broke the school-record
of All-American Scott Overall.
