Joe Macdonald Named Horizon League Track Athlete of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Senior Joe Macdonald, who posted Butler’s lone first place finish at the 14-team Miami (Ohio) Invitational, has been named Horizon League Male Track Athlete of the Week for the period of April 5-11.

The Manchester, U.K., native won the men’s 1500 meter run at the Miami Invitational on Saturday, April 10.  He crossed the finish line in 3:44.76 to pace Butler to a 1-2-3 finish in the event!

Macdonald currently is ranked No. 21 in the NCAA Division I in the 1500 meter run.

Butler’s track and field squad will compete at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif., on April 16-17. The Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championship is scheduled for April 30-May 1.
