Kris Gauson Paces Butler At Mt. Sac Relays
WALNUT, CALIF. – Senior Kris Gauson narrowly missed his
own school record in the men’s 1,500 meter run to pace a
solid showing by a contingent of Butler track and field members at
the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. The three-day meet
wrapped up on Saturday, April 17.
Gauson placed third in the men’s 1,500 Invitational
University/Open race in 3:43.55, just off his school-record mark of
3:42.13, set last year. Miles Batty, running unattached, won
the race in 3:42.42.
The Bulldogs also picked up strong performances from seniors
Stephen Lisgo and Rob Mullett in the men’s 3,000 meter
steeplechase. Lisgo placed fifth in the Steeplechase
Invitational in 3:56.35, while Mullett won the Steeplechase Olympic
Development in 8:48.14.
Freshman Kirsty Legg posted a 12th place finish in the
Women’s 1500 Meter Run Olympic Development University/Open
race in 4:26.21. In the Women’s 5,000 Meter Run Olympic
Development University/Open, freshman Katie Clark came in 21st in
16:46.24, while freshman Lauren McKillop was 26th in 16:58.38.
Senior Joe Macdonald placed 28th in the Men’s 5,000 Meter Run
Invitational University/Open in 13:52.07, while senior Justin
Roeder came in 22nd in the Men’s 10,000 Meter Run
Invitational University/Open in 29:58.37.
