Rob Mullett Named Horizon League Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Butler senior Rob Mullett, who turned in a strong individual performance in the Bulldogs’ season-opening indoor track and field meet, has been named Horizon League Male Track Athlete of the Week for the period of December 7-13.

The Brighton, U.K., native placed first in the mile run and second in the 800 meter run at the EIU Early Bird  meet, hosted by Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill., on Dec. 11.  He had a winning time of 4:09.78 in the mile and then posted a time of 1:54.33 in the 800, finishing less than a second behind teammate Kris Gauson.

Mullett accounted for 18 of Butler’s 52 points in the six-team, season-opening meet.

Butler’s track and field squad will take a break for the holidays, before returning to action on Jan. 15 at the Notre Dame Opener.
