Kris Gauson Leads Butler At Gladstein Invitational
BLOOMINGTON, IND. -- Senior Kris Gauson captured the men’s
800 individual, highlighting Butler’s track and field
performance on the final day of the Gladstein Invitational, hosted
by Indiana University on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 21-22).
The win was one of three Butler victories in the two-day meet.
Gauson paced a nine-runner field in the men’s invitational
race, crossing the finish line in 1:52.56. He finished nearly
two seconds ahead of runner-up Hale O’Herren, who was running
unattached.
The win by Gauson was one of two by the Bulldogs on the final
day. Sophomore Craig Jordan captured the men’s 800 in
1:55.09 and freshman Brad Magnetta placed third in the same race in
1:57.85. Senior Justin Roeder captured the men’s 3,000
on Friday night.
The Bulldogs also picked up a fifth place finish in the
men’s 200 from freshman Tom Brueggemann (22.76), while
freshman Nigel Spears tied for eighth in the men’s long jump
(22-02.50).
