Kirsty Legg Named Horizon League Runner of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Sophomore Kirsty Legg, who picked up the lone win by Butler’s women at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational, has been named Horizon League Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 10.

Legg, who hails from Middlesborough, U.K., captured the women’s 800 meter title at the 17-team invitational.  She out-paced 47 runners in the event with a winning time of 2:11.97.  Her time is the best in the Horizon League this spring.

The Butler middle distance standout also finished 10th in a field of 72 runners in the women’s 1500 meter run.  She posted a time of 4:33.17, which places her second in the Horizon League.

Butler will head to Walnut, Calif., this weekend to compete in the Mt. Sac Relays.  The two-day meet will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 15-16.
