Kris Gauson Wins At Cardinal Twilight
LOUISVILLE, KY. -- Kris Gauson closed out the regular season
with an individual win to pace a small Butler’s track and
field contingent at the Cardinal Twilight, hosted by the University
of Louisville on Friday (May 13) night.
Gauson led a field of 47 runners in the men’s 800 meter run,
crossing the finish line in 1:49.43. He was the lone runner
in the field to break 1:50. Teammate Craig Jordan came in
sixth in the race in 1:51.80.
Butler also placed two runners in the “Top 10” in the
women’s 1500 meter run. Kirsty Legg came in fifth in
the event in 4:26.96, while Kaitlyn Love finished ninth in
4:39.82.
Matt Proctor posted a ninth place finish in the men’s 3,000
meter steeplechase in 9:19.92, while Tom Brueggemann came in 10th
in the men’s 100 in 11.48. Brueggemann also placed 19th
in the men’s 200 in 22.34.
Alex Berry finished 12th in the men’s 400 in 48.74.
The meet was Butler’s last competition until the NCAA East
Regionals, which begin on May 27.
