Kris Gauson Named Horizon League Runner of the Week
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler distance ace Kris Gauson has been
named Horizon League Men’s Runner of the Week, for the period
Dec. 6-12. The Butler senior was one of two male athletes
honored as a league Track and Field Athlete of the Week.
Gauson led Butler at the Eastern Illinois University Early Bird
Meet with a first place finish in the men’s 3,000 meter
run. He captured the event with a time of 8:21.57, finishing
three seconds ahead of teammate Ross Clarke. A total of 13
competitors were entered in the men’s 3,000 meter run.
Also honored by the Horizon League was Darius Reeves of Youngstown
State, who placed fourth in the triple jump at the Golden Flash
Gala. Reeves cleared 14.15 meters, the second-best triple
jump in Youngstown State track and field history.
Butler’s track and field team will take a break for the
holidays and return to action at the Illini Challenge on Jan.
