Clark, Love Named Academic All-League

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler distance runners Katie Clark (right) and Kaitlyn Love have been named to the 2011-12 Horizon League Women’s Indoor Track and Field Academic All-League Team, released by the league office on Tuesday, April 24.  The two were among 16 female track and field athletes chosen to the winter academic honor squad.

Clark, a junior criminology major, was named the Horizon League Female Athlete of the Meet at the 2012 Horizon League Indoor Championship.  She placed first in the women’s 3,000 meter run and in the women’s 5,000 meter run, while finishing runner-up in the women’s mile.

Love, a junior majoring in Earl/Middle Childhood Education, was a member of Butler’s winning Distance Medley Relay Team at the league championship.  She also placed third in the women’s 800 meter run at the league meet.

Both runners earned winter Academic All-League honors for the second straight year.
