Thomas Frazer Wins Mile Run At Hoosier Classic

Senior Thomas Frazer picked up where he left off in the cross country season and earned a victory in the mile run at the Hoosier Classic hosted by Indiana University on Saturday, Jan. 15. The open meet was Butler's first indoor competition for the 2005 track season.

Frazer, who help Butler to a fourth place national finish at the 2004 NCAA Cross Country Championship, picked up a victory in his first 2005 race. He paced a 17-runner field in the mile run with a winning time of 4:18.76. He narrowly edged Daniel Walden of the Indiana Invaders, who finished second in 4:18.79.

Butler track squad also picked up a third place finish from freshman Sarah Kemple in the women's mile run. Kemple finished in 5:17.44.

Sophomore Chris Smith placed fourth in the mile run in 4:21.48 and sixth in the 600 meter dash in 1:24.95
