Bulldogs Continue Solid Performance At Gladstein Invitational

Junior Kris Gauson captured the men's mile invitational and three other Bulldogs posted "Top 3" individual finishes to highlight the performance of Butler's track and field squad at the Gladstein Invitational, hosted by Indiana University on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 23-24). Butler's men and women both competed in the non-scoring meet.

Gauson turned in Butler's top performance with a first place finish in the men's mile invitational. He covered the distance in 4:08.83 to finish well ahead of unattached runner Andrew Bayer (4:11.80) in second place. Butler senior Andy Baker came in third in the race in 4:13.23.

The Bulldogs also picked up third place individual finishes from junior Stephen Lisgo in the men's 3,000 meter run invitational (8:14.59) and junior Andy Barbeau in the men's 800 (2:00.05.). Senior Tommy Davies placed fifth in the men's 3,000 invitational (8:15.93).

Junior Sara Bird, who placed eighth in the women's mile run (5:22.04), had the top finish among Butler's women. Junior Whitney Turner finished ninth in the women's mile (5:22.24), while junior Marbeth Shiell came in ninth in the women's 3,000 meter run invitational (10:00.41).
