Butler Records Fall At Alex Wilson Invitational

Seniors Victoria Mitchell and Andrew Sherman set a pair of school records and each earned NCAA provisional qualification at the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Friday and Saturday, March 4-5. The two distance runners were among a handful of Butler athletes competing at the late season meet.

Mitchell set a school mark of 9:30.67 in the 3,000 meter run. She broke the previous Butler record of 9:45, set by Monika Stupian in 2002. Mitchell placed sixth in the race at Notre Dame.

Sherman came in eighth in the mile run in 4:03.63, breaking the previous mark of 4:04 that he shared with Julius Mwangi.

Butler sophomore Kara Henry posted a time of 5:11.40 in the mile run, while freshman Isabelle Stoate recorded a 2:15.22 in the 800 meter run. Senior Nick Goodliffe finished the men's 3,000 meter run in 8:19.63.
