Butler Captures Five Individual Titles At The DePauw Quad

Several strong individual efforts, including five event titles, highlighted the performance of the Butler men's and women's track teams at the DePauw Quad meet held in Greencastle on Saturday, April 2. Both Butler teams placed fourth at the meet.
All five individual titles were captured by Butler's women's track team. Freshman Kristi Hertzler turned in one of Butler's top efforts while winning the 100 meter hurdles in a meet record 15.62. Junior Brooke Carr won the 400 meter dash in 1:02.72, while sophomore Maggie Mathieson captured the 1500 meter run in 4:56.16. Butler also picked up individual wins from senior Monika Schneider, who won the 3000 meter steeplechase in 11:42.47, and senior Jill Snyder, who captured the pole vault with a leap of 10-00.
Butler's women finished second in the 4 X 400 relay with a time of 4:15.63.
In the men's competition, Butler picked up a runner-up finish from Rob Hartman in the javelin (134-01) and a third place finish from Chris King in the shot put (43-07.25).
