Andrew Sherman Breaks Butler 800 Record

For the second consecutive year, Andrew Sherman turned in a record-breaking effort to highlight the performance of the Butler track and field team at the Miami Invitational, which was held in Oxford, Ohio, on Saturday, April 9. The Butler women's track and field squad placed eighth in the invitational meet, while Butler's men came in tenth.
Sherman won the 800 meter run in 1:50.32, breaking the Butler school record of 1:50.88 that he set while winning the 800 meter run at the Miami Invitational a year ago. His winning performance also topped the NCAA Regional Qualifying mark of 1:50.40.
Senior Victoria Mitchell successfully defended her meet title in the 1500 meter run. She placed first in the event with a winning time of 4:32.34. Butler's Isabelle Stoate came in fifth in the same race with a time of 4:41.14. Stoate also placed fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:15.33.
Junior Monika Schneider placed runner-up in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:08.27. She finished just two seconds behind individual champ Rose Lehe of Ball State.
