Senior Victoria Mitchell added another entry to the league record book while posting one of three Butler individual titles on the final day of the Horizon League Men's and Women's Track and Field Championship at the Michael A. Carroll Track and Field Stadium in Indianapolis on Friday, May 13. Joining Mitchell in the winners circle on the final day were teammates Chris Smith and John Frazer.

Mitchell won the women's 1500 meter run in 4:31.68 in her only race of the meet. Her time erased the previous league mark of 4:34.02, set by Alana Crisman of Loyola in 1999. A year ago, Mitchell won four races at the league championship, setting league records in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the 5,000 meter run.

Freshman Isabelle Stoate finished third in the women's 1500 meter run, just missing the previous league mark with a time of 4:34.63. Butler also picked up two of the top four finishes in the women's 5,000 meter run with sophomore Maggie Mathieson coming in third, just ahead of freshman Genni Gardener.

In the men's competition, Butler grabbed three of the top four spots in both the 800 meter run and the 1500 meter run. Senior Andrew Sherman (1:51.64), junior Scott Overall (1:52.26) and senior Nick Goodliffe (1:52.89) finished second through fourth, respectively, in the 800. Smith, a sophomore, won the 1500 meter run in 3:50.43, while senior Thomas Frazer (3:50.76) came in third and Overall (3:55.75) finished fourth.

Senior John Frazer picked up Butler's other individual crown with a win in the men's 5,000 meter run. His time of 14:40.49 narrowly missed the league mark of 14:40.04, set by Butler's Justin Young in 2001.

UW-Milwaukee claimed the men's team championship, while Youngstown State won the women's title. Butler placed fifth in the men's competition and sixth in the women's.
