Butler senior Andrew Sherman has been named the 2005 Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year. The talented distance runner was tabbed for the league's top indoor track honor by a vote of league coaches.
Sherman won the 1000 meter run at the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championship. He also set two Butler records in the mile run during the indoor season, capped by a personal best time of 4:03.63. He ended the indoor season as the Horizon League?s only male NCAA provisional qualifier.
Sherman, originally from Swindon, England, was named Horizon League Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Feb. 16.
UW-Milwaukee's Tenia Fisher, who won a league championship in the 800 meter run, was selected as the league?s Female Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year.
