Scott Overall Places 11th At NCAA National Meet

Senior Scott Overall closed out Butler's 2005-06 sports calendar with an 11th place finish in the men's 5,000 meter run at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Sacramento, Calif., on Friday evening (June 9). Butler's distance ace qualified for the finals at A. G. Spanos Sports Complex with the seventh fastest time in the 5,000 meter preliminaries on Wednesday (June 7).
Overall finished his final race in 14:27.32, missing a top ten finish by 0.53 seconds. Earlier this season, he set a Butler record in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 13:38.19 at a meet held in California. He was the last Butler athlete competing this season.
Chris Solinsky of Wisconsin won the men's 5,000 meter national crown with a time of 14:11.71. Solinsky had entered the national championship as the top-seeded runner in the 5,000.
