Mason Cathey To Run In England

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler assistant track/cross country coach Mason Cathey will represent the United States in an international competition at the Great North City Games in England on Saturday, Sept. 17.  The event at Newcastle Gateshead, England, will match Great Britain and Northern Ireland against the USA.

Cathey, who is in her second season on the Butler coaching staff, will compete in the mile at the Great North City Games.  Other women’s events at the competition include the 150 and the 100 hurdles.  The event will be broadcast live on BBC television.

Earlier this summer, Cathey placed eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the USA National Outdoor Championships.  She’ll also be competing in the Pan Am Games in late October.
