Bulldogs Withdraw From Indiana Intercollegiate Meet
Sept. 21, 2002
The late September storms that ravaged central Indiana on Friday, Sept. 20, ended Butler's bid to compete in the Indiana Intercollegiate Cross Country Meet hosted by Indiana University. The Bulldogs, who were preparing for the one-hour trip to Indiana were forced to cancel the trip when a tornado ripped through the Martinsville area, closing the roads between Indianapolis and Bloomington.
"The reports we were receiving from the Martinsville area were not good, so we decided to withdraw from the competition," stated Butler head coach Joe Franklin.
The men's and women's cross country teams at Butler will return to action on Friday, Sept. 27, at the Great American Cross Country Festival in Rock Hill, North Carolina.
